    In 1984, a non-profit organization formed for the purpose of purchasing Camp Buckeye and guiding its new mission. “Grass Roots Ministries, Inc” became the name of this collective effort to purchase the former scout facility and give it a new purpose…an outreach camp….a safe place for youth to enjoy God’s handiwork and experience God’s love through a camping experience with dedicated counselors and staff. To exalt Christ in His natural setting as we reach out to children and adults in support of local families, churches, and communities

    As a Board Member of Camp Buckeye, you would be joining approximately eight other active citizens and professionals who meet together on the second Monday of each month at 5:00 pm, as a policy-making and governing body. Expectations of you as a Board Member would include attendance and participation at the monthly Board meetings, committee participation, and positive representation of Camp Buckeye in the community. Past and present Board members have estimated their involvement at 2-4 hours a month, depending on ministry needs at any particular time. Monthly meetings average 2 hours in length. We typically meet at our camp lodge.
